In a statement made available to Shemnews on Saturday at the end of the intensive course in Abuja, Aré urged the participants to become catalysts for the development of rugby in their respective states.

He stressed that the growth of the sport depends largely on their commitment and expertise. “Go back and impact your communities because rugby needs you. Without you, rugby cannot make headway,” Aré stated, calling for stronger collaboration with state associations, sports councils, and ministries of sports to secure greater recognition for the game.

The three-day seminar and workshop attracted about 80 participants, drawing praise from international stakeholders. Robert Bwari, World Rugby East and Southern Africa Game Growth Manager, expressed satisfaction with Nigeria’s progress in developing local educators, noting that World Rugby can now focus on providing supervision rather than sending educators directly.

To further build on this momentum, the NRFF announced several key appointments and structural developments:

New Technical Director: Angulu Suleiman was appointed as the new Technical Director, urging participants to take the next step in developing the sport and building on the benchmark set by the federation.

Regional Ambassadors: The NRFF president appointed six new ambassadors to represent the federation across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones, including Lazarus Nuhu, who commended the leadership for its commitment.

Long-Term Technical Investment: Wuraola Hussain, an NRFF board member and World Rugby-certified instructor, emphasized that the federation’s sustained investment in technical development will significantly contribute to raising the next generation of rugby coaches, referees, and players.
